Globibo Stages Earth Day Panda Run
Globibo Event Technology and 20 volunteers toured as Giant Pandas Singapore downtown in support of International Earth Day.
Singapore, April 24, 2015 (Newswire.com) - For the 45th anniversary of Earth Day, the Globibo Event Technology Team organized a group of 20 volunteers that toured the entire inner city as Giant Pandas. With the overall motto "It's our turn to lead" the Earth Day Event is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and celebrated in more than 192 countries each year.
The drive towards creating a sustainable planet is at an entirely different stage in developing countries compared to developed nations where Earth Day was initiated. The biggest gap in Asia still often remains awareness, motivation and positive reinforcements of individuals. Globibo therefore planned to combine a serious topic with some fun.
The 20 Giant Pandas started at Marine Bay Financial Center and walked via Marine Bay Sands, Esplande, Raffles Place, Boat Quay to Clarke Quay. On the way the Panda Group challanged their "humans friends" in some activities (Panda Dance, Panda Tagawar).
With hundreds of supporters and viewers, the event was a great success and all participants are looking forward to Earth Day 2016.
