Global Spirits Works With General Beverage Sales Co. to Expand Vodka Portfolio in Wisconsin

Global Spirits USA is expanding its US distribution footprint with General Beverage Sales Company, Wisconsin's premiere statewide beverage alcohol distributor.

Global Spirits USA, a privately-held, international manufacturer and marketer of wines and spirits, is expanding its US distribution footprint with General Beverage Sales Company, Wisconsin’s premiere statewide beverage alcohol distributor, which will introduce Khortytsa and Pervak Vodkas to the local market.

“General Beverage has done a wonderful job in introducing our LEAF Vodka brand to the market,” notes Steve Ackerman, national sales director, Global Spirits USA, LLC.  “We are delighted with their decision to expand upon this success with our Khortyts and Pervak brands.”

"Both bands fill a need in our portfolio. Pervak clearly integrates into the craft genre, while Khortytsa is a quality vodka at a terrific price point. We're confident both will do well in Milwaukee."

Established in 1933 and family owned ever since, General Beverage is one of the largest wholesale distributors of wine, distilled spirits, beer and non-alcoholic beverages in Wisconsin. They consult with, sell to, and service over 11,400 licensed beverage retailers located in all of Wisconsin's 72 Counties from offices located in Barron, Chippewa Falls, LaCrosse, Little Chute, Madison - HQ, Milwaukee, Oshkosh, Superior and Stevens Point.

“Both bands fill a need in our portfolio,” says  Dan Kopina, senior vice president, marketing & sales, General Beverage Sales Co.  “Pervak clearly integrates into the craft genre, while Khortytsa is a quality vodka at a terrific price point.  We’re confident both will do well in Milwaukee.”

“Wisconsin is a key midwestern vodka market with a growing mixology culture,” says Dan Freier, midwest sales manager, Global Spirits USA.  “General Beverage is our ‘go-to’ partner because of their in-depth understanding of the local consumer and their trusted reputation among retailers, restaurateurs and bar owners.”

Pervak Vodka is a craft product dating back to 1882.  The vodka is a combination of modern technologies and centuries-old traditions of Ukrainian samohon home distilling.  Its unique package features a conventional Ukrainian samohon bottle. It is also easy to open, featuring a convenient swing-top cap.  Pervak is available in Wheat and Rye for a suggested retail of $17.99 per liter.

Ukraine’s famed Khortytsa (Hor-Ti-Tsa) Distillery was named among the world’s best distilleries at the 2014 New York International Spirits Competition (NYISC).

The Khortytsa Distillery is located in Zaporozhe near Khortytsa Island. This ancient island’s history dates back thousands of years and reaches the roots of civilization. It is considered a sacred place in Ukraine and is one of the country’s seven wonders.

Built in 2003, the Khortytsa Distillery is among the world’s finest distilleries. It uses a local organic filter containing schungite (a unique natural mineral) which allows it to get as close as possible to the structure of natural water.  The filtration process is further enhanced with special birch and alder-tree charcoal and quartz sand sourced near the famous Crystal Mountains of the Urals near Yekaterinburg, Russia.

Currently, there are four items within the Khortytsa line imported to the United States: Khortytsa Platinum, which is the most popular item in the line, retailing for $13.99per 750 ml.; Khortytsa Ice, with a bottle color that changes when chilled, retails for $13.99per 750 ml.; Khortytsa Honey Pepper, which offers a spicy zing to a variety of cocktails, retails for $13.99 per 750 ml., and Khortytsa De Luxe for vodka connoisseurs, is a “super premium” vodka with a suggested retail of $25.99 for a 750 ml. bottle.
