Online, July 21, 2010 (Newswire.com) - SAN DIEGO, CA, (2010 San Diego Comic Convention) Ghost Light Pictures' Graeme Finlayson and Bayberry Lane Entertainment's Gary Klavans to be interviewed about their award winning "Diamond Confidential" short film, its future as a "Film Noir" feature film, TV Series and graphic novel at the 2010 San Diego Comic Convention.

"Diamond Confidential" to the next level as a feature film, TV Series and graphic novel. This is their third collaboration for the two companies; the first two include the romantic comedy short "Nora Ephron Should Die" and the feature length dark drama "Damaged". Currently they are in the early stages of pre-production on a fourth coming in late 2010 "Reason".
"Diamond Confidential" is the story of Mick Diamond, a down and out photographer who takes "dirty pictures, of dirty people, doing dirty things." Mick, who can be bought for a buck or a bottle, is hired by femme fatale Jasmine Ozerova played by Maggie Vandenburghe to retrieve a suitcase. The contents are a mystery. The reward is high. The risk is death. Weasel played by Damon Standifer is a slick con man and possibly the only friend Mick has, overhears the conversation and decides to beat Mick to the reward. Diamond, who's character lives within underbelly society and the law; thrives in this menagerie of crime and deceit.
Weasel's actions buy him a bullet in the back. After retrieving the suitcase, Mick returns to his flat to discover Jasmine has been waiting for him. The following morning Mick learns he had been followed by a mysterious hit man, and the police, who produce a photograph with surprising evidence to Weasel's killer. What's in the suitcase and why are people dying to get it?

"Diamond Confidential" won the Silver Lei Award on April 24th at the 2010 Honolulu Film Festival in Hawaii, the festival's 2nd highest achievement. The film was directed and produced by Graeme Finlayson of Ghost Light Pictures and written by and starring Gary Klavans of Bayberry Lane Entertainment. The film brings back the remembrance of the film-noir style with visionary luminosity and a classic 21th Century touch. The film was chosen to open and was premiered at the Los Angeles Short Film Festival in 2009 along with such stars as Scarlett Johansson and Courtney Cox. When director/producer Graeme Finlayson was given the script, he was more than willing to take on the challenge of marrying the film-noir style of the 1940s with the 21st century. Actors Gary Klavans, Danielle De Luca and Michael Dempsey lead the cast to create believable characters living truthfully through Finlayson's vision. Graeme Finlayson and Gary Klavans are currently developing a feature length film, TV series and graphic novel based upon "Diamond Confidential".
About Graeme Finlayson:
Graeme Finlayson, a graduate of San Jose State University where he majored in acting, screenwriting and film production; has over 20 years of experience working in the entertainment industry. Graeme brings an intense dedication and a fearless commitment to every project he undertakes. His love and passion for films and filmmaking began at an early age when his mother took him to the local movie theatre. Starting his career as an actor, Graeme soon combined his love of performing with his passion for writing and producing.
Finlayson met "Diamond Confidential" Co-Writer and Lead Actor Gary Klavans while studying The Michael Chekhov acting technique. Soon he and Klavans were writing, producing and acting together in several original theatre productions in Los Angeles. Following several commercial and critical successes in theatre, he and Gary combined their talents to co-write, co-produce and co-star in the feature film "Crispy, Crackers & Beans". The suspenseful thriller was an audience favorite at the South by Southwest Film Festival and the X-Ground on Screen Film Fest in Frankfurt, Germany.
For the last several years Graeme has worked on nearly fifty projects ranging from feature films and short films to music videos and commercials. Such rich and diverse experience has enabled Graeme to develop and nurture his skills as a film director. He is currently in pre-production on the Muay Thai kickboxing project "In Training", which starts principal photography in late August 2010. "In Training" marks Graeme's fifth directorial project.
About Gary Klavans:
Gary Klavans is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston, MA., where he studied film, television, creative writing and theatre. Gary moved to Los Angeles where he worked for Casting Director Brien Scott. During that time he began writing scenes for his acting class, which quickly became his first produced play "Crossroads". After several theatrical successes, Gary began writing for TV and film. He co-wrote, produced and starred in the independent feature "Crispy, Cracker's and Beans". The film was screened at the South by Southwest Film Festival and the X-Ground On Screen Film Festival in Frankfurt, Germany.
Gary's other writing credits include the syndicated television series "Rosarito Weekend" and the critically acclaimed stage play. "Happy Christmas Merry Chanukah", which debut at the Company of Angels Theatre.
Gary continued to perform on stage in award winning productions as a member of Company of Angels. Los Angeles' oldest repertory theatre company, where he appeared in "A Midsummer Nights Dream", "Life During Wartime" and "A Lonely Monkeyhouse". Gary's film awards include the "Audience Appreciation Award" for "The Family Business" and ISFF "Best Drama" for the short film "Nothing but The Best".
Gary's other films include "Nora Ephron Should Die", "My Life....Welcome to it", and "Diamond Confidential" and is currently writing his new film "Reason"
