Fresh face, actress Sequoia Houston is set to appear in "Torn-The Willie Lynch Letter." The play/film will be presented by non-profit organization Black Family United at the Los Angeles Theater Center as well as at local Los Angeles area high schools. It will have several performances between February 24th and March 11th. The multimedia production includes four vignettes, with the stage performance representing life during 1712 and the filmed portion, seen on screens throughout the play, representing life in 2012. The actors show the parallels between slave culture, and current African American culture.

No stranger to controversial shows with great messages, Houston gave a noteworthy performance in Seventh Stage Productions' adaptation of George C. Wolfe's "The Colored Museum," which played at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters in Dallas, Texas in March 2011. She also played a supporting role in the feature film Legend of Love, which depicts the love story between a now-freed slave and the son of her former owner. It will debut later this year.

New to Hollywood, this marks Houston's inaugural performance in Los Angeles, since relocating from Dallas, Texas in late 2011. She has proven to be one of the hot new actresses to watch. A versatile talent, she has brought her talent to several feature film projects, including the SyFy thriller Fire from Below, starring Kevin Sorbo and stoner comedy Hypnotize Me. A classically trained actress, Houston has also graced the stage in an array of theatrical productions, from classic pieces such as A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Black Nativity to independent productions like Traumnovela and Love Don't Live Here Anymore.
