Free college scholarship workshop on Sep. 26

Students will get tips on applying for scholarships and have the chance to win one of two $500 CollegeInvest scholarships

DENVER- College and high school students will have the opportunity to meet directly with non-profit scholarship providers at the first-ever scholarship workshop event hosted by CollegeInvest and the Scholarships for Colorado Team.

The scholarship workshop will take place on Saturday, Sep. 26 from 1 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the Driscoll University Center at the University of Denver. Scholarship providers and financial aid experts will be on hand to present workshops and to answer student questions.

In addition to the workshops, Colorado's CollegeInvest will award two $500 scholarships at the event.

"In this tough economy, students and their families need to be aware of every resource available," said Janet Gullickson, chief outreach and client relations officer at CollegeInvest. "We are excited to be able to work with other non-profit scholarship providers to help students find the resources they need to make their college educations a reality."
