Fragrance Creators Recognizes EPA, FDA, TTB for Synergistic Interagency Action to Help Industry Mitigate the Impacts of COVID-19

The association is taking leadership in empowering industry to create safe and effective disinfecting and hand sanitizing formulations

Fragrance Creators Association released today the following statement from Farah K. Ahmed, President & CEO, applauding the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) for taking temporary measures that empower businesses to create disinfectants and hand sanitizers that can help fight the spread of COVID-19.

“In this time of crisis, everyone has a role to play—with the private sector and government working together to address challenges in new and unprecedented ways. We appreciate the opportunity to engage in dialogue with our agencies, and are encouraged by the steps EPAFDA (also here), and TTB have taken to empower fragrance manufacturers and other businesses to meet the demand for safe and effective disinfectants and hand sanitizers. At Fragrance Creators, we are committed to doing our part. Now, more than ever, we see it as our duty to leverage our relationships, share meaningful information, and deliver tools to companies to mitigate COVID-19 more effectively. For instance, helping companies that have created disinfecting and hand sanitizing formulas all along, as well as newcomers who are looking to contribute in meaningful ways in our nation’s time of need.

“Our singular goal is to work collectively with our members, broader industry, and government officials and policymakers to amplify efforts to reduce the public health and economic impacts of COVID-19.”

To further these efforts, Fragrance Creators is hosting a complimentary webinar today, Thursday, April 2, from 3-4 pm EST—open to members and non-members—called “COVID-19 Guidance for Businesses on the Production & Distribution of Hand Sanitizers & Disinfectants.” The webinar is intended to help fragrance companies, distilled spirits producers, and others better understand the agencies’ guidances and other regulations to ensure their formulas are safe and effective. Register here.
