It took two years to develop Foto Sushi, LLC from the initial idea to the refined product being offered today. To realize his vision, Anderson recruited veterans from the creative world that shared his pain in the hunt for elusive, usable stock portrait imagery. Foto Sushi provides designers with the freedom of choice and creative flexibility that traditional stock agencies simply don’t deliver. “Sometimes I find an image I like, but I can’t find two more to match. Or, I find an image where the model is cropped, so I spend valuable hours rebuilding the side of the model’s head or shoulder. That’s time that most designers consider wasted,” says Anderson.

Foto Sushi has created its own library of authentic, never-before-seen models that come from all walks of life. Designers can choose between about a dozen expressions per model, and each model was shot under consistent lighting schemes so they can be easily grouped together. Each full-sized, high resolution image has been beautifully retouched to save designers more time. The canvases are large, but the models are always in focus (no soft depth of field) to make it easy to clip people out using programs like Adobe Photoshop. Lastly, Foto Sushi models are never cropped, so designers will never be inconvenienced with rebuilding an image. All of these features come with a simplified licensing agreement to make using Foto Sushi images hassle-free.
