Former Pentagon Police Officer Launches Exquisite, Georgetown-Inspired Timepieces on Kickstarter

The Executive Series

Former Pentagon police officer Jeff Freeman has begun chasing his Kickstarter campaign goal of $25,000 to take his Tate Whalun watch brand to market.

Tate Whalun offers a collection of simple yet exquisite watches designed to make a statement in any setting. The watches are manufactured from premium-quality materials by watchmakers with years of expertise in crafting luxury timepieces.

A watch enthusiast himself, Freeman’s fascination with watches was inherited from his father, who had different timepieces in his collection. He recounts: “Before my dad passed away, he gave me one of his watches that I wear to this day.”

But despite his fascination with watches, Freeman never had any intention of creating a watch brand. Explaining how the idea was birthed, he said, “In 2016, I relocated to Texas from the D.C. area. I didn’t know anyone so in my spare time, I would design watch ideations and share them with people to hear their opinions. My intention was never to start a watch brand, but people started giving nice compliments about my designs. So, I started reaching out to manufacturers about producing prototypes.”

Tate Whalun timepieces are inspired by Freeman’s birthplace in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. He said, “Growing up during the '80s, Georgetown was considered the fashion district of Washington, D.C. It’s an eclectic area as well. I love things that are vintage and timeless.

The brand’s debut collection features three unique styles – The Utopia, The Renaissance and The Executive Series – that appeal to every taste, from the nostalgic to the minimalist. The Utopia is a ladies watch with a sleek yet sassy design available in three colorways. The Renaissance features a timeless square design with Tate Whalun’s own rendition of vintage nostalgia. Finally, The Executive Series is an exquisite minimalist watch with a hint of boldness. This design is available in five colorways.

Questioned about his motivation for creating a watch brand, Freeman said, “I wanted to offer watch enthusiasts a way of expressing their lifestyle through uniquely designed timepieces and accessories.” To share this amazing collection with the world, Freeman is turning to Kickstarter to fund a campaign goal of $25,000. Anyone can support the campaign with as little as $5 but a pledge of $129 will be rewarded with one of the exquisite timepieces from The Executive Series.

Beta testing for the Tate Whalun watches has been very positive. One customer said: “I am very impressed with the quality and service received from Tate Whalun. Every time I wear this timepiece, I receive a compliment and/or a request as to where it can be purchased. I will be purchasing more for certain.”

The Tate Whalun Kickstarter campaign went live on Tuesday, Nov. 19. For further information, visit TateWhalun.com.
