Former Orphan Pays It Forward

Student Body of America Association (SBAA) has filmed the Corazón de Vida (CDV) Foundation for the documentary Project Pay It Forward. Amy Mintz of SBAA and the film production crew accompanied CDV and over 50 volunteers on their monthly bus trip from California to Mexico to document the volunteers' experiences at an orphanage with over 90 children.

SBAA received a grant from the Change Happens Foundation to help fund this documentary film. Project Pay it Forward aims to inspire the youth and general public to realize their true potential to make a positive change in the world. It's been proven through scientific evidence that paying it forward is contagious and spreads to other people and Hilda Pacheco-Taylor, founder of CDV Foundation, is a shining example of how one person can positively influence an entire community.

Once an orphan herself, Hilda now leads a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing over 800 orphans with shelter, food, clothing, education and healthcare. "I want to tell everyone that helps with Corazón de Vida: everything you do matters… These kids are going to give back to their communities and the orphanage and it will all be in the name of those that helped, just like I'm doing today with Corazón de Vida."

Project Pay it Forward seeks to raise awareness of CDV and other nonprofit organizations represented in the documentary, and to encourage the youth to volunteer and get involved in their communities. The mission of the Change Happens Foundation is to act as a meaningful catalyst towards positive change, and their support for SBAA's program certainly propelled this pay it forward movement ahead. Once completed, the documentary will be available to schools, educational programs and youth organizations with supplementary resources for the youth to get involved in their communities.

SBAA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization operated exclusively for educational purposes. Their mission is to provide information and resources to support students, and to guide the youth to apply their education to make the best decisions on both an individual and societal basis. Project Pay it Forward is currently halfway through production. For more information, please visit www.ProjectPayItForward.org.
