Former New York Giants Athlete Joins Forces with Arms of Love Outreach to Impact Disadvantaged Youth

Online, November 18, 2010 (Newswire.com) - For many, the thought of the fastly approaching holiday season brings warm hearts and happiness. Unfortunately, for millions across the country, it is a time that exacerbates misfortune and loneliness. To lift the heavy hearts of displaced, underprivileged children in the Greater Houston area, former New York Giants athlete and founder of Carter's Kids, Tim Carter, has teamed up with Arthur Rucker, a Houston based philanthropist and minister, for the "Arms of Love" outreach.

In an effort to reach displaced youth at their needs, Rucker has partnered with former NFL athlete, Tim Carter, to serve Thanksgiving Dinner to the youth of Carter's Kids on Tuesday, November 23rd and also provide gifts for them during the Christmas holiday. "Arthur is a great inspiration that has a heart for the community, so it made perfect sense to partner with him and the Arms of Love team," states Tim Carter. Carter's Kids foundation has made significant contributions in the lives of many at risk youth throughout the Houston market.

"Children are the product of those they've been entrusted to. Because of that, it's often difficult for them to be more than what we've invested in them. The Arms of Love outreach is an effort to show disadvantaged children that they have someone who cares about them and is willing to be a safety net for them," said Arthur Rucker, co-founder of Arms of Love. "I believe that we can encourage them to accomplish great things despite their circumstances when they feel this kind of support."
