Forever Smiles Orthodontist Hosts "What Makes You Smile" Art Exhibit
Online, March 13, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The walls of Forever Smiles , the practice of Buffalo Grove orthodontist Dr. Yan Razdolsky, will be a bit more colorful through early May, thanks to a student art exhibit on display.
Razdolsky invited local art students to his office for a field trip in February and they created orthodontics-inspired artwork based on what they learned. The exhibit is titled "What Makes You Smile."
"The work is incredible," said Razdolsky, who provides braces for adults and children. "Now we want visitors to vote on their favorite piece of art."
Patients and guests can vote by visiting Razdolsky's office, or by checking out the photos on his Facebook page and "liking" their favorites. The winner will be announced May 6, and will receive a scholarship to cover one semester of Artishock classes, along with art supplies. Second place gets a scholarship for one semester of classes. The third place winner receives art supplies.
The inspiration for the artwork came from the office fieldtrip, where students learned how creating a perfect smile through orthodontics incorporates artistry and science.
"I've always loved how art and science combine in orthodontics," Razdolsky said. "It's rewarding to show that to students, because not many people realize this."
Artishock founder Talia Prilutsky said Razdolsky's office is a perfect spot for displaying the students' work because it's large, child-friendly and several of her students are Razdolsky's patients.
Voting will go through the end of April.
