Ford Explorer Named 2011 North American Truck of the Year for a Reason

The Ford Explorer, Ford's full-size SUV has been completely restyled for 2011. The vehicle offers efficiency, space and more and has won the title '2011 North American Truck of the Year'.

The Ford Explorer received an extensive facelift for 2011 and has been completely redesigned. The multitude of changes include exterior styling, a new engine, and a restyled interior. The improvements made resulted in the full size SUV being named the 2011 North American Truck of the Year.

The Explorer's exterior loses the truck-related body style and gains a unibody construction similar to the Ford Flex. The vehicle gains four inches in length and five inches in width. The new body frame gives the Explorer more carlike driving dynamics and safety.

The full size SUV is fitted with a new engine, the 290 horsepower 3.5-lter TiVCT V6 that offers best in class mileage, 25 mpg highway. In addition the powerful Explorer can tow up to 5000 pounds when properly equipped. The new engine is more fuel efficient and provides quicker acceleration.

Inside the Explorer, the cabin is completely restyled. There is an abundance of space along with high quality materials.
