Florida Tennis SBT Academy Names Rob Castorri GM and Director of Tennis

Florida Tennis SBT Academy today announced the appointment of Rob Castorri as General Manager and Director of Tennis. Rob will be responsible for the daily operation of the Academy's existing tennis programs, which are mostly structured for competitive junior and professional players, and for developing new state-of-the-art programs for a broader range of players.

Academy partners Harold Solomon and Trey Buchholz together stated, "We are thrilled to have one of our industry's most outstanding and respected professionals join our team and work beside us on-court at our Academy at the Lauderdale Tennis Club."

"Rob has achieved tremendous success in the tennis world as a player, coach and owner/manager. We are confident that he will bring new ideas and energy to our existing programs, and that he will create innovative programs that will clearly establish our Academy as South Florida's premier tennis training center for players of all ages and skill levels."

Rob Castorri is a former All-American tennis player and holder of over twenty age-level national titles. He is a USPTA Elite Level coach with over 40 years of experience on and off the court. He has worldwide experience launching tennis academies and award-winning tennis related events. Here in South Florida, Rob created the area's first tennis academy with five days per week training, led a local high school tennis team to a Florida state title, and was Director of Tennis at Lauderdale Tennis Club.

Florida Tennis SBT Tennis Academy, formerly the Harold Solomon Tennis Institute, was established in 2005 by Fort Lauderdale's legendary tennis player and coach Harold Solomon and his business partner Larry Kashdin. In January 2017, Trey Buchholz, a member of one of America's most renowned tennis families, merged his academy with Solomon Tennis, and became a full partner in the renamed venture. The Academy has been highly successful developing elite junior players, who have gone on to successful playing careers at some of the country's finest institutions and collegiate programs, including Princeton, Rice, UCLA, the University of Florida, the University of Miami and Vanderbilt. The academy now offers USTA programs for grade school age players, and well as for junior players who desire less intense training. It will soon launch additional programs for both junior and adult players, featuring the Academy's world-class coaching staff.
