Florida-Based Optamiz Health Launches App for Plant-Based Living
SARASOTA, Fla., January 5, 2022 (Newswire.com) - Optamiz Health, Inc. announced the release of its new, free mobile app for plant-based living. The app, developed by fitness and nutrition advocate Heather Hackett-Kaufman and her husband Dr. Ken Kaufman, is intended for "anyone interested in plant-based living, regardless of how casual or committed," noted Hackett-Kaufman. "The number of people who are curious about plant-based foods and healthier living is growing. There's been a tremendous increase in plant-based food sales," she added. "But many people don't know where to start or how to make the transition."
Hackett-Kaufman recently published the "Plant-Based Jumpstart Manual", a 70-page guide for anyone wanting to easily transition into a plant-based lifestyle. The Plant-Based Jumpstart Manual is free with the Optamiz app download. Available for both iPhone and Android devices, the app is a central source for restaurants, recipes, resources, products, and services to live a plant-based lifestyle.
The interest in plant-based living has exploded, due in part to the pandemic and people taking more interest in their overall health. The use of milk alternatives such as soy-, oat- and almond-based products, as well as increased acceptance of meat alternatives, has prompted many Americans to incorporate more plant-based products into their diets. According to the Plant Based Foods Association, about one-third of Americans are reducing their meat and dairy consumption, with roughly 29% identifying as "flexitarians" - people who eat a variety of foods but are trying to eat less animal products like meat, dairy, chicken and pork. "The Optamiz app provides tools and information for anyone, whether just starting to explore plant-based products or fully committed to the lifestyle," noted Dr. Kaufman.
