Fitness Expo Helps Raise Over $750 In Less Than 3 Hours For The Sheridan House!
Body Therapeutix and Soccer Town use fitness games, soccer clinics and a few dozen raffled prizes from local businesses to help raise over $750 in less than 3 hours for the Sheridan House Family Ministries.
Pembroke Pines, FL, February 3, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Over 100 people attended the 1st annual “Sports and Fitness Expo-Get Active for a Cause” event on January 30th 2016 in support of the Sheridan House Family Ministries, which provides support for at risk children and families in need right here in South Florida. The fitness games and soccer clinics which took place at Soccer Town and Body Therapeutix right behind the YMCA Aquatic Center, raised over $750 in less than 3 hours through raffle ticket sales. Dozens of local sponsors donated to the raffle including Starbucks, Sports Authority, Vitamin Shoppe, Sol-utions Footwear, Nutrition Smart, and Jamba Juice.
The raffle included over 30 prizes from the sponsors which were all health related and ended up being a huge success. The raffle generated more than $600 in the first 2 hours alone. A ton of local businesses came to support the cause by providing food, water, and lots of healthy treats.

This event, organized by Body Therapeutix (the outdoor fitness center) and Soccer Town, was for the entire family and gave the local community a chance to get active for the New Year. Here’s what the president of Body Therapeutix had to say, “It’s so important for us to raise awareness to help these kids and families overcome life’s unfortunate circumstances. Our goal was to help the Sheridan House provide for these families with what they need. The only thing that stopped us from raising more money, was that we ran out of prizes. Being able to partner with the Sheridan House was a huge honor for us. I’d say about 80% of our members have kids, so it really hits home for the Body Therapeutix and Soccer Town Family.”
