Fiscal Cliffhanger Free Thursday

In the wake of the recession and in the face of the looming fiscal cliff, there's really only one answer, argues author Arnold Ytreeide. Amazon Kindle is offering that answer free for twenty-four hours on Thursday in the form of Ytreeide's latest book, "The Most Excellent People - A Parable." Ytreeide is best known for his Christmas trilogy Jotham's Journey and related Easter book, which together have sold over two-hundred thousand copies.

"This isn't a Biblical parable," Ytreeide said, "rather a parable about greed, the lust for power, bad leadership, and ignoring what's most important in life. But most importantly, it's a parable about our response to those actions - the only response there is or can be."

Unlike most of his other books, which have been offered through national publishing houses, Ytreeide is self-publishing "The Most Excellent People" through Amazon. "It's just a little five-thousand word parable in forty-four pages," he said. "A quick read, but one that I think has something important to say."

Amazon will be offering the book for free for twenty-four hours on Thursday, December 27th, from about midnight to midnight (PDT) on their Kindle platform. Anyone can download the book at no cost, even if they don't own a Kindle. "We just want to get the message out," Ytreeide said about the free offer, "because the fiscal cliff is looming and no one in Washington seems to understand what's really important."

"This is meant to be an inspirational tale," Ytreeide added. "Whether you're an American, British, Greek or from any other country, the message of hope is the same."
