First Annual Sunrise Cares 5k Walk/Run for Veterans in Orlando, Florida

Sunrise Cares is committed to life-saving addiction care and removing the stigma associated with mental health disorders. It works hand in hand with Veterans and their families to replace the pain of active addiction with the health and well-being of active recovery.

On Saturday, March 12, Sunrise Cares, a registered 501(c)(3), holds the First Annual 5k for Veterans at Lake Harbor Park, 4990 New Broad St. Orlando, FL 32814, at 8 AM. All ages, strollers, wheelchairs, walkers etc., are welcome to join us as folks run, walk, or even roll their way to the finish line to benefit the County Veterans Services Officers Association of Florida. 

Awards will be given to the top three overall adult male and female racers, and the top three overall child (12 & under) male and female.

Refreshments will be available throughout the course and following the race. 

All proceeds from this year's race will benefit the County Veterans Services Officers Association of Florida.

Sunrise Cares is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping remove the stigma associated with mental illness; providing support and encouragement; and highlighting healthy alternatives for living well. Through community outreach and positive leadership, SunriseCares encourages self-improvement, social responsibility, and academic achievement with an eye on attaining happiness in life.

RACE TIMING AND SCORING

The race will be professionally timed and scored by Hasselmania Productions LLC. The race will be timed using disposable electronic tags attached to the bib number. Please wear your bib number to the front, pinned at all four corners, visible and unaltered. Results will be posted at the race and immediately following the race at www.RaceSmith.com
