Find Peace on the Lower East- New Acupuncture Salon Curates a RESTful Experience

New Acupuncture Salon curates a RESTful experience on the Lower East Side of Manhattan

The ancient medical art of acupuncture gets modernized! REST is a new concept in affordable wellness and preventative medicine. The Acupuncture Salon recently opened to the public on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. They have introduced an innovative approach to achieving balance by offering a menu of four simple relaxation treatments in a hip, communal open space. These acupuncture Point Prescriptions, are designed to bring a deep sense of calm, and aid in stress reduction. REST keeps it simple by focusing on the meditative experience of deep relaxation rather than fixing acute injuries. Founders Alexandra Norindr M.S. L.Ac. and Yukiko Naoi M.S. L.Ac. aim to be the pioneers of a new movement in low-cost luxury acupuncture.

“Our clients walk in and feel relaxed the moment the door closes behind them… We’ve designed a simple yet sophisticated mind-body experience that stimulates and calms all five senses.” - Yukiko Naoi, Co-founder

"REST Acupuncture is not just about staying physically healthy. We help to quiet a bit of internal noise to help our clients find a sense of peace, that they will hopefully carry with them into the outside world."

Upon entering REST, clients will experience calming scents and music while they are gently escorted to their acupuncture loungers, which are carefully positioned to face the wall, similar to Zen meditation. Loungers are then heated from underneath while the client rests supine with their eyes closed. Exactly 10 hair-thin needles are inserted into specific places along acupuncture meridians, and a mylar blanket is placed over top. After the meditative treatment, clients are met with fresh tea to revive their minds before heading back out into the world. These “Acupuncture by Design” point prescriptions are meant not only to be relaxing, but could potentially become a way to completely transform emotions, beat fatigue and feel more grounded in daily activities.

While acupuncture has been a popular therapeutic remedy around the world for thousands of years, in the US it can be cost prohibitive as well as less recognizable to the general public. REST seeks to break down these barriers with a mainstream approach and a casual experience.
