Financial Help Services, Inc. Helps South Florida's Foster Children Get Ready for the School Year
Miami, FL, August 28, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Financial Help Services, Inc. has partnered with the Christian Homes for Children by providing backpacks and school supplies to foster children. Christian Homes for Children is a South Florida non-profit organization that provides hope, healing, and comfort to abused and neglected children providing them with safe homes of love headed by caring, compassionate parents. Not only do they provide children with loving, safe homes, but they also construct permanent homes for foster parents to take up to six children at a time.
Each year there are many low- and middle-income families across the country that can barely afford to feed their children, let alone purchase school supplies for them. With the prices of school supplies rising each year, a financial burden is placed on these families in what seems like a have vs. have-not public system. According to NBC News “school districts now have less money for supplies, forcing them to rely more on parents for items such as markers, construction paper, cleaning supplies, tissues, copy paper, and printer ink.”
“We saw the need in our community and acted on it,” says Alex Prado, Director of Operations for Financial Help Services, Inc. “The Christian Homes for Children organization was the perfect place to start. At any time they have up to 100 foster children in their program. They provide these neglected and abused children with love, a home, and a caring family with Christian-values. They keep children off the street and make sure that siblings are never separated. We felt that it was our duty to make sure that all of the children in their program were ready for the first day of a successful school year.”
Financial Help Services, Inc. takes steps daily in ensuring not only financial success, but also success within their community. Each quarter they partner with organizations in their local area to give back. Realizing that children are the future of our country, they shouldn’t have to worry about having school supplies. Their only worries should be passing their classes.
