Final Call For Nominations For The FABO Awards

Nominations are closing at the end of the month for the inaugural FABO Awards

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Nominations are closing at the end of the month for the inaugural FABO Awards, which will celebrate and publicly appreciate the contribution of the people who spend their time working behind the scenes of Australia's non-profit organisations in the finance, administration, IT and human resources 'back offices'.

The Finance, Administration and Back Office (FABO) Awards have been initiated by Matrix On Board, an organisation that specialises in providing financial management, management support and training and development to non-profit organisations across Australia.

The non-profit sector comprises more than 600,000 organisations contributing $43 billion to Australia's GDP and eight per cent of employment, and is growing. The FABO Awards are a new opportunity to recognise the 'quiet achievers', the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes and contribute greatly to the Australian community.

"We are more likely to hear about the CEOs and Directors, fundraisers, high profile 'movers and shakers' and the frontline workers," said Morri Young, founder of the FABO Awards and Director of Matrix On Board. "Unfortunately, we can too easily forget about the dedicated individuals working their magic behind the scenes to ensure charities and other non-profits run smoothly and efficiently. We work with the unsung heroes of the back office of non-profit organisations, so we know that they are the backbone and critical to the financial management and administration of the sector that makes a difference to the lives of so many people in need."

Officially launched by Victoria's Minister for Community Development, Lily D'Ambrosio MP, the FABO Awards close for nominations on 31 August. Nominations can be submitted online or by faxing or mailing a completed nomination form that can be printed from the website. For more information about the FABO Awards and each category or to submit nominations, visit www.fabos.com.au.
