FieldTurf's Popularity in New Jersey Continues as Ocean City HS Welcomes New Field
Ocean City, New Jersey, February 3, 2017 (Newswire.com) - The Ocean City Red Raiders head into the new year thrilled to compete on one of New Jersey’s most unique, sustainable athletic fields.
This past summer more than 2,000 students, staff and faculty from the Ocean City High School District gathered to celebrate the ribbon-cutting on the Red Raiders’ FieldTurf surface. The enthusiastic gathering was another indication that FieldTurf continues to be the popular choice for New Jersey high schools and local governments.
Ocean City opted for FieldTurf’s Revolution 360 system to cover their 98,417-square-foot athletic field that will be home to thousands of hours of practices and competitions.
OCEAN CITY CHOOSES PUREFILL
What makes the Red Raiders’ field unique is the infill.
School officials wanted to provide their students with the safest, most sustainable field possible, and FieldTurf’s PureFill system, which is primarily composed of cork, was one of the deciding factors in Ocean City’s choice.
The unique infill reduces the field’s temperature on hot days and provides equal cushioning, giving Red Raider athletes a cool, industry-leading playing surface to hone their skills.
REVOLUTION 360 PROVIDES CHAMPIONSHIP PERFORMANCE
Ocean City needed a playing surface that could keep up with it's busy practice and playing schedules.
The Revolution 360 fiber met their expectations because it is the industry leader in durability and strength. Two different independent testing facilities – Labosport and Penn State University’s Sports Surface Research Center – have rated Revolution 360 with exceptional marks.
Labosport, a leading laboratory dedicated to sports surfaces and equipment, gave Revolution 360 an 83 on the Fiber Performance Index (FPI), making it the only turf system on the market to achieve a score that high.
FIELDTURF IS FIELD OF CHOICE FOR NEW JERSEY
While FieldTurf continues its success in South Jersey, they’re adding more clients in North Jersey as well, the company said.
Earlier this month, the community of Livingston celebrated the opening of a new FieldTurf playing surface. Local leaders attended the inauguration of the field, saying the town was pleased to have the “highest-quality turf field on the market.”
There are more than 600 FieldTurf fields throughout New Jersey and more than 7,000 installed around the world.
