FEMI Magazine Shares a Little Christmas Cheer with Nassau University Medical Center's Pediatric Ward.
Online, January 8, 2014 (Newswire.com) - FEMI Magazine (Family Empowers, Motivates & Inspires) made its annual hospital visit to Nassau University Medical Center's pediatric ward on December 22, 2013. This annual visit to the hospital is truly a highlight in FEMI Magazine's calendar year. This year FEMI Magazine was accompanied by Youth 4 Change Revolution (Y4CR), some members of Vessels of Praise, as well as Karen Hunt. Karen and members of her family donate toys and help to wrap and distribute gifts every year in loving memory of her son, Tashari Rochester. With their help FEMI Magazine has been able to bring smiles to many children's faces who have had to spend their holiday season in the hospital.
This year CEO and founder of FEMI Magazine, 'Sadanya' S L Cuadra was unable to host FEMI's annual Legends Showcase & Toy Drive because she became ill. However, she is on her way to a full recovery and is already looking forward to hosting the magazine's 2014 Legends Showcase & Toy Drive. FEMI Magazine's Legends Showcase & Toy Drive is a must see. This warm and beautiful event showcases an array of talent. Last year's showcase featured 19 singers, many musicians and a very talented spoken word artist. The performers came from New York City boroughs, New Jersey and Long Island, and drew a packed house. After each performer brought his own unique style to the stage, the audience's expressions of appreciation became symbolic of the good time they were having. The evening felt magical. Admission to this venue was free because it was FEMI's way of thanking all who donated toys, wrapped gifts, sang carols or helped to hand out gifts to children.
When asked to define FEMI's Legends Showcase & Toy Drive 'Sadanya' S L Cuadra responded, "Often it is hard to remember everyone when you're passing out thank you's, especially when there are so many to thank. The Legend's showcase helps us in expressing our thanks to everyone. It really is a beautiful event, because it is an example of what Christmas is about. Corny sounding I know, but I don't think anyone who was present at last year's event will tell you any different. I know I am extremely encouraged by the positivity that this venue produces. I'm absolutely humbled by it. You know, I never tire of seeing a child unwrap toys with wide-eyed excitement. Those children reminded me of just how allowing yourself to smile from within can be a form of good medicine. I am extremely grateful for all who help FEMI each year. The Legends Showcase and Toy Drive is the least I can offer."
