FEFU and Yanbian University Will Perform Student Exchanges
Vladivostok, November 24, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The documents were signed by FEFU’s pro-rector for international relationship Vladimir Kurilov and the Chinese university’s pro-rector for international connections Jui Jiungmo during the meeting which took place in the campus of the Far-Eastern State University on Russky island.
As stated in the documents, FEFU and Yanbian University intend to actively develop their relationships in the educational and research activity. The parties have agreed to cooperate in the field of education’s internationalization, perform student and teacher exchanges, accomplish joint academic and research projects, hold conferences and cultural programs. Among the challenging fields of activity which were discussed by Vladimir Kurilov and Jui Jiungmo at their meeting in FEFU is the launch of a joint double diploma program in linguistics, economics, jurisprudence, biomedicine or engineering professions.
It should be noted that the Far-Eastern State University has been actively cooperating with higher educational institutions of the PRC and taking all measures to promote the expansion of bilateral academic mobility of students and teachers and gradual intensification of student exchanges between Russian and Chinese higher educational institutions. The Russian Language Center for Chinese Students planned to be opened in FEFU is going to redefine this cooperation. Memorandum on such center’s creation was made by rector Sergey Ivanets and General Secretary of China Scholarship Council Liu Jinghui at the 15th session of the China Russia Committee on Humanities Cooperation which took place in September of the current year in Ulyanovsk. The role of the Far-Eastern State University in the inter-university interaction of Russia and China was also noted by the Chair of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev who delivered a speech at the Open Innovations international forum.
