Fabulous Masterpieces Unveils New Alan Turing Portrait Commissioned In The Style Of Van Gogh

New Painting of Alan Turing commissioned to commemorate 60 years of his death.

London-based art company Fabulous Masterpieces has created a painting of Alan Turing, one of the first to be commissioned in many decades.

“A client wanted us to paint a portrait of Turing in order to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of his death,” said Tim Bertram, a spokesman for Fabulous Masterpieces. “However, this was a painting with a small difference – it was to be in the style of Vincent Van Gogh!”

Fabulous Masterpieces sourced an old black and white photo of the renowned Bletchley Park code breaker and created a truly original piece quite unlike any other seen before.

Turing’s work helped Britain to decipher encrypted messages from the German enigma machine, something which helped the Allied war effort immeasurably. Turing’s later life was beset by tragedy; arrested in 1952 for his homosexuality, he committed suicide just two years later.

Fabulous Masterpieces, an online art gallery produces beautiful oil paintings from photos in as little as a month. Customers email photogaphs of their families, pets or friends to their portrait artists who will then painstakingly paint a wonderful oil painting.
