FA Cup Final 2010 Chelsea vs. Portsmouth

This Press Release describes the final match for fa cup challenge.

Indeed the FA Cup final this time around will be Carlo Ancelotti's title chasing Chelsea facing Avram Grant's recently relegated Portsmouth. On paper Chelsea would appear to be the clear favorites but could the fairytale conclude with a happy ending for Portsmouth after a nightmare season?

Will Chelsea Win The 2010 FA Cup Final?

As the title race comes to a conclusion as of mid April Chelsea have put themselves in pole position since being dumped unceremoniously out of the Champions League by former hero Jose Mourinho and his Inter Milan side.

However they have kept their focus on the FA Cup too and have paved their way to the final in their usual efficient manner. Their chances of winning on the day really depend heavily on the spine of the team all performing to the top of their game and then the likelihood is the rest of the team will all flourish as a result of that. Therefore if John Terry as Captain, Frank Lampard running midfield and Didier Drogba leading the line all turn in a good display then Chelsea can be a formidable side to try and stop. Carlo Ancelotti has a good cup pedigree himself and knows what it is like to prepare a team for a major final.

Also by the time the final comes around Chelsea may well be playing to achieve the double which adds its own expectations.

Will Portsmouth Win The 2010 FA Cup Final?

On Portsmouth this is a bit of a David vs. Goliath clash as Pompey will be officially a Championship side by the time the game rolls around. They managed to get past Spurs in the semi-finals so a result is not out of their grasp but it would be irrelevant to pinpoint key players for them as every single Portsmouth player will need to play to their optimum level to get the result they, and perhaps all neutral supporters around the nation, will be hoping can transpire.
