“Generation Loss” uses the technical term as an analogy between today's younger, grossly in-debt, "slacker" generation and the more "practical" predecessors -- all of them striving for conflicting versions of the "American Dream."

Lead vocalist Sean Kelly explains, “'Generation Loss' was the working title of the album from very early on, which refers to the loss of quality between subsequent copies of data (video, audio, etc.). I thought of that concept - the older and more copied something got, the worse it was in terms of quality. If you put that in the context of capitalism and the way our government is structured, it applies quite frighteningly. The more power these politicians have, the more money is in their pockets from large donors, and the more beholden they are to corporate interests, the less we have and the less likely we are to truly prosper and live the so-called ‘American Dream.’”

The music video for “Generation Loss” uses different gradients and deviating, choppy shots that embody the effects of generation loss. With an air of 80’s punk rock and the early days of MTV, the visual component acts as a link to times of "Damn The Man" and rebellion.

With the new album, A Fragile Tomorrow has one mission: to redefine themselves during times of upheaval and rise up more powerful and daring than ever. The album promises to be emotionally dense, while sonically polished, centered on themes of loss, resurrection, and change in all of its forms (personal, political, universal). With an ear for sumptuous production, the band serves up smart slices of krautrock-heavy psychedelia. Dreamy vocal harmonies are layered into kaleidoscopic synth jams while supported by bursts of quirky, fuzzed-out guitar and groovy bass lines.

ABOUT A FRAGILE TOMORROW

A Fragile Tomorrow began as a trio of teen brothers who rose above a difficult, tragedy-laden childhood and channeled their emotions into smart, catchy, dreamy pop music. Having released five independent albums, the band has toured extensively with artists such as Indigo Girls, Matthew Sweet, The Bangles, and Toad The Wet Sprocket. AFT also won an Independent Music Award for their duet with cousin, Joan Baez, which Consequence Of Sound called "…a gorgeous and eccentric tribute." A staple in the Southern power-pop scene, Blurt Magazine dubbed them “One of South Carolina’s leading indie lights, period.” The members have collectively collaborated with many renowned musicians including Gail Ann Dorsey (David Bowie), Mark Hart (Crowded House), Emily Saliers (Indigo Girls), and Lucy Wainwright Roche.
