The Kenguru is an electric, closed body type wheelchair fitting vehicle that provides quick access for people sitting in wheelchairs. The Kenguru gives the user independence, solving local mobility needs in a very convenient manner: The Kenguru allows the user to travel up to 110 kilometers (60 miles) at the maximum speed of 45 km/h (25 mph). The greatest advantage of the Kenguru is that the user stays in his/her own wheelchair from the beginning to the end of the journey. No more need to change the wheelchair. To access the Kenguru, the user just opens and closes through a remote control. For safety, the user fixes the wheelchair to a docking station before starting the engine.

Because of its size, the user can park very conveniently in almost any spot. It is even possible to park the Kenguru at a right angle to the sidewalk so that one can get directly to and from the pavement onto my ramp.

The CEO of Community Cars, Stacy Zoern, a former Austin patent litigation attorney, was originally looking for a vehicle herself that would allow her to drive with muscles severely weakened by spinal muscular atrophy. When she found the Kenguru, she decided not only to become a user but also to go into business with the company that originally comes from Hungary. Zoern raised so far more than 2 Mio. USD for the company and helped set up a production plant in Pfluegerville. The first Kengurus have already been shipped to France.
