Ethisphere Announces Partnership With Make-a-Wish®

Ethisphere will advance the important work of Make-A-Wish - granting wishes to children with critical illnesses - through the Business Ethics Leadership Alliance (BELA), Ethisphere Magazine, Events and other Channels

The Ethisphere Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing standards of ethical business practices, announced today an alliance with Make-A-Wish, a global organization dedicated to creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

For the partnership, Ethisphere will advance the work of Make-A-Wish through its platforms, including the Business Ethics Leadership Alliance (BELA), a 275+-member strong globally recognized organization of leading companies collaborating together to share best practices in governance, risk management, compliance and ethics. For each new or renewing BELA member, Ethisphere will donate $100 to Make-A-Wish. The organization and BELA members involved in Make-A-Wish will also be highlighted via a dedicated page on Ethisphere's BELA Member Hub, a portal showcasing leading practices of BELA members, data, research and other resources.

“Ethisphere and the companies in our Business Ethics Leadership Alliance are dedicated to advancing business integrity. These companies understand that employees, customers and other stakeholders value good work that has a positive effect on the people in our communities,” stated Tim Erblich, Chief Executive Officer, Ethisphere. “The impact of Make-A-Wish is undeniable – their wishes inspire hope in families and children and a belief that they can beat critical illness. The great news is that 70 percent of Make-A-Wish children do.”

Additionally, Make-A-Wish President and CEO Richard K. Davis will provide the keynote address at the World’s Most Ethical Companies® honorees gala dinner, an event taking place in New York City on March 31, 2020. Make-A-Wish will also have a presence at Ethisphere’s Global Ethics Summit on April 1-2, 2020; in advertisements in Ethisphere Magazine; and Make-A-Wish news and stories will be showcased on social media and other Ethisphere channels.

“Ethisphere is a leading voice, channel and community for companies that want to make the world a better place,” stated Davis. “As we enter our 40th year and prepare to grant our 500,000th wish in 2020, there’s no better time to collaborate with Ethisphere to share the life-changing work of Make-A-Wish with corporate audiences seeking to help children, their families and communities.”

“More than ever, brands have a social responsibility to create a positive impact and help strengthen the communities they serve, especially in times of need," said Cheryl Heinonen, Senior Vice President Macy's Corporate Communications. "The joy and hope Make-A-Wish brings to families during unimaginable hardship is inspirational and a cause that resonates with companies and their customers, who are dedicated to making a difference in their communities."

About Make-A-Wish

Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We seek to bring every eligible child's wish to life because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight their illness. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Make-A-Wish is the world’s leading children’s wish-granting organization, serving children in every community in the United States and in more than 50 countries worldwide. Together, generous donors, supporters, staff and nearly 40,000 volunteers across the U.S., grant a wish every 34 minutes, on average, somewhere in the country. Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 315,000 wishes to children in the U.S. and its territories; more than 15,600 in 2018 alone.
