Engineering Systems Consultants, inc. unveils Version 2.8.0 of EqMARSTM - the Equipment Reservation and Inventory Management System. This version boasts new functionality and more user friendly features that save the user a lot of time.
Online, February 29, 2012 (Newswire.com) - According to ESC, which specializes in business process solutions, EqMARSTM, which helps universities, school districts, and companies effectively manage their equipment loans or rentals and manage maintenance scheduling, had undergone two upgrades in 2011. Version 2.6.0, added label printer integration, and 2.7.0 brought barcode reading for inventory and user badges, which has cut down the check-out time considerably by enabling the administrators -in a rush order situation- to quickly scan an item, scan a user's badge barcode, and complete the reservation and check-out operations in a couple of minutes. Version 2.8.0, says ESC, is even better.
Now, V2.8.0 has added yet another fantastic feature that will help the inventory manager and the users save time and improve efficiency.
ESC says that EqMARS V2.8.0 enables the users and administrators to bundle several items they want to borrow or rent into what is called "Kits". There are two types of kits: public kits and private kits. Public kits are usable by all users, and private are -well- as the name suggests, usable by the user who created it. Now, a user that created a kit can just enter the date range then click "reserve", and voila - the reservation is completed. All he/she has to do next is pick it up (probably in a duffle bag that the administrator is throwing in!).
EqMARSTM is a web-based system that has built-in features such as online reservations by the borrowers, and the enabling the inventory manager to plan purchases and maintenance by tracking usage, and schedule maintenance and disposal. The system can be customized for any business application based on specific rules/polices, and it has easy to read reports that display most valuable information at your fingertips, reports the company on its website.
According to the ESC's management, EqMARS is developed around well-defined business practices and user roles, with flexibility to handle different business models and usage scenarios.
