Erik's DeliCafé Launches Two (2) New Quakes Themed Sandwiches Titled Official Sandwiches of The San Jose Earthquakes

What's New menu items, and winners of Erik's DeliCafé's "Make a Quakes Sandwich Contest," The Cali Clasico & #Quakes74, were created by an Erik's fan and an Erik's Team Member.

Erik’s DeliCafé®, the popular 31 unit fast casual sandwich, soup and salad brand launched two (2) new San Jose Earthquakes themed sandwiches, The Cali Clasico and #Quakes74.

Back in June, the DeliCafé launched a contest open to the public and Erik’s DeliCafé team members, to create the official sandwiches of the San Jose Earthquakes. With their industry expertise, corporate staff carefully narrowed down the competition to four sandwiches which were eventually judged for the title, “Official Sandwich of the San Jose Earthquakes.”

On Monday, June 19, 2017, at Erik’s DeliCafé of Milpitas, judges Erik Johnson, Founder & CEO of Erik’s DeliCafé, Rick Juncker, Owner/Operator of Erik’s DeliCafé of Redwood City, and Major League Soccer player #27 of the San Jose Earthquakes, Fatai Alashe, critiqued the sandwiches in front of a live audience open event. Once the results were tallied, two winning sandwiches were selected (one fan entry & one team member entry).

To keep the momentum going, the San Jose Earthquakes hosted an online Twitter poll for fans to participate in the naming of the fan created sandwich, resulting in The Cali Clasico. This sandwich includes slices of turkey breast topped with hickory smoked bacon, fresh avocado, mozzarella, with artichoke pesto aioli, butter lettuce, tomato and slivered red onion toasted on a fresh baked Dutch crunch roll.

The second sandwich, created by an Erik’s DeliCafé team member, was named #Quakes74. A warm sandwich with grilled moist chicken breast, hickory smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, Erik’s guacamole, sriracha mayo, topped with slivered red onion, fresh lettuce and tomato on an artisan egg bun.

The two Quakes themed sandwiches, titled the Official Sandwiches of the San Jose Earthquakes, are now available at all Erik’s DeliCafés for a limited time. For more information on Erik’s DeliCafé and these two (2) sandwiches, visit EriksDeliCafe.com.
