Envent Corporation Adds Scrubber Unit to Equipment Line-Up for H2S, SOx, and Ammonia Scrubbing

Envent designed the ESCRUB 2000 to reduce or eliminate H2S, SOx, or ammonia vapors at a rate of up to 2,000 SCFM. Placed upstream from an Envent degassing unit, the ESCRUB 2000 reduces costs by 15% for chemical and petrochemical companies.

The ESCRUB 2000 uses Envent’s latest proprietary vapor technology to remove even the highest concentrations of noxious odors and hazardous vapors, so that clients can stay in compliance with current EPA regulations.

Jeff Burns, Lead Fabricator for Envent Corporation states that Envent’s latest equipment can be used to ensure continued operation without downtime due to maintenance and turnaround in certain process units. Envent’s excellent compliance and safety record will help put refinery managers and personnel at ease during these maintenance periods.

"The ESCRUB 2000 is an example of Envent’s commitment to meet the needs of all industrial and refinery customers, who have extremely high vapor concentrations to be mitigated.  This system is customizable to meet our clients’ needs and can be arranged in the most efficient means possible to meet our customers’ requirements.”

The ESCRUB 2000 is a trailer-mounted, dual-packed recirculating column scrubber designed for high-concentration vapor removal.  It can treat flow rates up to 2,000 CFM and can be configured either in series for extremely high vapor concentration, or in parallel.  Engineers can configure the ESCRUB 2000 to be run continuously to provide 100% efficiency.  The design of the ESCRUB 2000 includes an integral air compressor and a piped-in PD transfer pump making it easy to transfer fresh or spent caustic in and out of the dual scrubbers.

Other safety and performance features integral to the ESCRUB 2000 are redundant magnetic drive explosion-proof pumps, pressure and temperature gauges, high temperature alarms, an inlet flame arrestor, pH probes with DCS output capabilities and output alarms.

The ESCRUB 2000 can be equipped with various types of scrubbing media, such as Envent’s proprietary VapoScrubH2S5, Sodium Hydroxide, acids or water, through which the vapor stream is directed. Envent’s ESCRUB 2000 systems are available for short or long-term deployment throughout North America.
