Anand Pajpani, of London, has started a unique project calling it AMillionTweeps.com. The project is designed to see how easy it is to gain 1 million followers on its Twitter profile. As well as the username amilliontweeps on Twitter, Anand has set up a supporting website which displays how many "Tweeps" (people on Twitter) are following him.
When quizzed on his idea, Anand said "You hear stories of how viral marketing on sites like Facebook and Twitter work wonders, during elections and on April Fools Day, so I thought to myself, lets see how easy it can be". Anand is clear that there is a commercial aspect to the project however if he reaches his target, the charity WaterAid could receive upto £10,000 as well.
