Energy, Grit and Determination Place This Small Town Girl on Large Professional Map!
Online, June 25, 2014 (Newswire.com) - "My journey at SCMS has been akin to a roller coaster ride", says a visibly enthused Nitu Mary Roy who, through a campus placement, recently got placed with Kaynes as a Project Manager. "I have seen the best and the worst of times here," she says. "However, these two years at SCMS Cochin School of Business have changed me, and I have emerged not only with a first-rate education but also as a better person." At Kaynes, Nitu will supervise a team, overseeing their projects and ensuring that they achieve the targets set for them. From the Planning stage to the dispatch, she needs to have full control over the process.
Nitu hails from Ernakulum. She studied engineering in Nagpur, and, because her father was in the Indian Air Force, she was schooled in different states all over India. A child with diverse exposure, Nitu found the environment rigorous at SCMS: "I thought the academic environment at SCMS was very strict, but I now realize that it has effectively prepared us for the demands of the corporate world. Whether it was the faculty or campus infrastructure, SCMS offers students a state-of-the-art education. And, it is because of the renowned faculty that I joined SCMS for my higher education."
Nitu feels that the education she received at SCMS was industry-focused and practical: "I did my SIP in Bangalore in IDBI Federal Life Insurance. It gave me a taste of actual work life and also helped me in my academic work. Being a student of Banking and Insurance, I got a lot of practical learning out of it." Nitu did face beginner's jitters, but is now confident that she will be able to deliver all that is required from her on this job. After all, she went through a tough selection procedure that involved a group discussion, interview, presentation, and a second interview with top management.
She dreams of making a place for herself in the industry and wants to grow to a position as head of the department. She believes she has the grit, determination and, most importantly, the energy to fulfill all of her dreams!
