Energy Efficient Electric Radiators Installed In Retirement Home

A retirement home in Farnborough Hampshire has installed an electric radiator system from Electraheat to control the temperatures into the common areas, where it was very difficult to get conventional radiators fitted.

Sira Energy Efficient Electric radiators keep retirement home warm

The Onice innovative, wall mounted electric radiator system manufactured by Sira Group in Italy has been installed in a new Sunrise Retirement complex in Farnborough, Hampshire. The Onice radiator system from Electraheat Ltd is maintaining the temperatures of common areas with an automatic temperature controlled electric system.

Electric heating systems, although effective have previously been perceived as being expensive to run. The Onice electric radiators are an Italian design and have a number of special long-life tungsten heater elements, which are individually controlled via a built-in electronic timer & thermostat. The radiators are modular in design, meaning economical running costs and unlike traditional bulky storage heaters offer full temperature control.

The decision to install these units was supported by information from a running cost and performance study carried out over 12 months by another retirement home in Suffolk, which showed that if the radiators were left on over a 24-hour period, they would only consume around 4 hours electricity.

These radiators are remarkably simple to install, requiring just two secure wall brackets. Average fitting time is just 10 minutes. They can be plugged in or wired in permanently to fused spur outlets. They are an ideal solution for someone who is considering replacing old ineffective heaters, or if they have additional areas or extensions where wet systems cannot be extended.

"The radiators are provided with a 15 year guarantee, which is unheard of for any heating product," said Adrian Barton-Hanson, Electraheat's marketing manager. This is because they have been proven in Italy for many years, and is subject to the rigorous testing and certification laws that exist there and throughout Europe. Amongst many others, they are issued with both CE and ISO certificates.

The radiators look and work just like a conventional wet radiator, and come supplied with an integrated thermostat for full control, and an optional remote thermostat system when used as a full central heating system.

If used as a central heating system, the electric radiator system can be even more efficient when combined with the latest in fixed electricity tariffs available from many suppliers.

The Onice electric radiator systems from Electraheat are automatically maintaining the temperatures of common areas in the Sunrise retirement home Farnborough.
