Energy Advantage was invited to discussion how it has helped Canadian companies achieve emission reductions through sustainability initiatives. The invitation to participate in this event was made by the Canadian Embassy in Mexico.
Energy Advantage will be co-presenting on the plenary panel "Breaking Ground: Canada as Mexico's Green Partner" with representatives from the Mexico Government Environmental Authorities and the Institute of Ecology Investigations. The session will discuss how Mexico's recent climate change legislation will impact manufacturers and suppliers in Mexico, as well as, discuss how Canada's knowledge in the clean technologies sector is poised to make an impact on the Mexican market by helping Mexican companies meet their obligations.
"Early this year Mexico passed a national climate change law which included a mandate to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide by 30% by 2020 and set a goal of obtaining at least 35% of Mexico's electricity coming from clean sources by 2024", says Rosales. "This stringent legislation will have significant impact large emitters and it's important that companies start taking action today so they can meet their future obligations".
With more than 30 years of presence and activity in the Mexican market, the CanCham objective is to create and sustain commercial bonds between Mexican and Canadian companies. This is the 10th Edition of CanCham Day in Mexico.
