Education Fairs - One Stop Solution for Students - Institutes OR not?

According to an email survey conducted by Readit Research, a business research wing of Readit India, Education Fairs are evolving as a good option for students and management institutes to exchange knowledge.

Readit Research, an arm of Readit India, India's leading business and press releases website conducted a email survey with students of Patna. A small group of students (680) were randomly selected from Internet Forums database. They were send an email to fill the survey form. The survey was managed using Survey Monkey Survey. Survey is still open and available at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/335T7GT.

Students were asked 4 questions about the benefits of education fairs and awareness about this Edu Expo 2010.

1. Do education fairs offer any value to students?
2. Can you compare colleges and get maximum information at one point in Education Fairs?
3. Do you know about Edu Expo Patna 2010?
4. Have you planned to visit education fair Edu Expo 2010 Patna?
5. Would you be willing to do spot registration, if a good admission offer is available?

Analysis:

1. Small majority feels that Education Fair are good and offer value. Some students feel that they are just a selling point for Management Institutes.
2. A big minority feels that students can compare colleges at education fair, but each education fair only has 50-60 colleges, complete information is not possible.
3. Marketing of Education fairs is partially effective. In their various campaigns, even organizers can communicate to only 50% of the population.
4. Only a few students do On the Spot Registration, if the offer is GREAT.


Result:

Readit Research believes that Education fairs are evolving in India. as of now, they are not effective as in developed markets like Europe and US. But yes, they offer some value to both students and educational institutions by serving as a good meeting point.
