Echosec Opens UK Operation

Victoria, Canada, February 3, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Echosec, a leading location-based search and data monitoring platform, has expanded its operations in the UK.

Founded in 2013, Echosec puts social media on the map.  Specializing in location-based searching, the company provides actionable intelligence to public safety, security and journalism professionals, among others.

The company, based primarily out of Canada, has garnered an increasing amount of business throughout the world. They’ve recently opened an office in the United Kingdom as their sales quickly expanded into the European Union.

Echosec has had office space and a presence in the UK for over a year. It wasn’t until recently that the UK office doubled in size and Echosec made the division an official subsidiary.

The most notable new hire in the UK is Alex Evans who comes to the team as a full-time developer.  Alex co-founded his first venture in 2013 through the Alacrity UK Foundation. Alex was brought on to the Echosec UK team to develop and build out the software with a UK and EU focus.

The core members of the UK team have come from the Alacrity UK program; just as the founders of the Canadian team are from the Alacrity Canada program. The Alacrity Foundation is a non-profit organization established in Canada with locations around the world. The mandate of the foundation is to train entrepreneurship and to provide the resources necessary for start-up technology companies to succeed in the local community and abroad.

The rapid growth that Echosec has experienced since their inception has allowed them to engage with hundreds of customers in over 35 countries. Echosec helps people every day to find the information that is important to them.

Ben Milsom, will take the lead as the CEO for Echosec UK. Ben is a leader in geomatics, social media and search who will drive the company across Europe.
