Dystonia Patient Dawn Brinkley Wins Mrs North Carolina 2010 Pageant

Dawn Brinkley, wife of USMC Major Ian Brinkley, Dystonia patient, and a director of American Dystonia Society, won the Mrs. North Carolina 2010 pageant on Saturday April 10, 2010. Mrs. Brinkley battled the debilitating and painful symptoms of Dystonia throughout the duration of the pageant to emerge victorious. Mrs. Brinkley is an inspiration to all who suffer from Dystonia, a neurological movement disorder that causes involuntary muscle spasms and tremendous pain. Mrs. Brinkley will continue to raise awareness for Dystonia as she continues on to compete in the Mrs United States 2010 pageant. Mrs. Brinkley is also the Director for Veterans' Outreach for the American Dystonia Society.
