Duece Poppi of Slip'N'Slide Records Collaborates With Prema LaNay For New Music
Online, January 11, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Hip-hop artist Duece Poppi, known for the single, "My White Friends," teamed up with Prema LaNay for a collaboration of a new single for his upcoming debut LP from Slip N Slide Records/Capitol Records. The two were introduced through mutual friends within the industry. Duece's relating charisma along with Prema LaNay's creative blend of melodies, brought about a wonderful mixture that both of their fanbases will appreciate. Music production was handled by OddznEndz which, are well known for songs by artists such as Juelz Santana, Lil Wayne, B.G, Birdman, and The Game.
"I wanted to go to the left with this particular track and Prema is the left field of left field," spoken by Poppi.
"There is a simple connection like a southern warmth in artists from the south. It's a musical vibe initially more than a business move. Natural waves are directed inward by the natural gravity that exists when working with someone like Duece," stated Prema LaNay
What could be the next Hip-Hop classic was recorded in Atlanta, GA during late hours of the city's first winter storm of the year. While most were salting up walkways or preventing pipes from freezing, two artists met and created new heat from the region of the U.S. that has always been a mecca for new, original entertainment.
While the collaboration is still an "untitled" piece of work, business associates have created a buzz over the chemistry heard between the two.
Duece Poppi
Born in Atlanta and raised in Miami, Duece Poppi emerged from the city's violent ghettos with a lyrical gift for storytelling on Miami's hard-hitting, bass-thumping tracks. After working his way into Trick Daddy's crew, Trick quickly put Duece to work at Slip N Slide Records and the rest, as they say, is history. Deuce promptly found himself co-writing the smash hit, "Shut Up" where the opportunity to write on a hit record with an idol is one that most protegees wait their entire careers for. Since then, Duece has been incessantly writing hooks and songs while producing music for his Afro-Punk-fusion group, The Needles (featured on his music label, Rebel Music). Even with penning hooks for various megastars while producing buzzworthy remixes, Duece Poppi doesn't miss a beat with releasing his first single, "My White Friends," off his debut LP tentatively titled Animal House. http://www.myspace.com/duecepoppi1
Prema LaNay
The gift of a flute from her Grandfather sparked Prema's love of music as a young child. She wrote short stories in grade school advanced to poetry then into chorus-filled stories. After working with independent labels as a songwriter, the storyteller thought about inserting herself into the picture. She tailored her sound into a one-of-a-king deliverance that only a true artist can give. Through interest of Cee-Lo from Gnarls Barkley, it was an instant approval by Jimmy Iovine declaring her "a marvelous writer." Prema's unique sound has been called "a cure to the current state of the music business." http://www.myspace.com/premalanay
