DroneBase Adds Former Enel X Exec Jason Buck as SVP of Sales
Buck to Lead Global Customer-based Solutions as DroneBase Projects Continued Growth in Renewables, Construction, and Insurance/Building Management
LOS ANGELES, October 12, 2021 (Newswire.com) - DroneBase, a leader in intelligent aerial imaging and data analytics, today announced that former EnerNOC and Enel X executive Jason Buck has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Sales. Buck will report directly to CEO and founder Dan Burton.
Buck brings 20 years' experience in building global, customer-focused sales teams for high-growth renewable energy companies to DroneBase, which recently closed its Series C funding.
In his role, Buck will build the company's global sales team and accelerate DroneBase's market leadership with high-performing companies in the construction, property management, insurance, and renewable energy industries.
"DroneBase's close partnerships with clients have fueled our rapid global expansion. Jason brings what we need now: experience and leadership building world-class sales teams for high-growth companies and a relentless focus on serving clients. He understands that successful sales is about developing creative solutions that improve a client's bottom line," said Dan Burton, founder, and CEO of DroneBase.
Whether deploying drones to capture high-resolution photos of wind turbines in the Atlantic Ocean or of commercial real estate complexes after a hurricane in Texas, or deploying manned aircraft to capture thermal data of a utility-scale solar farm, DroneBase's intelligent aerial images and reports pinpoint the action that insurers, property managers or owners/operators can take immediately to reduce risk, recover revenue, or improve the build quality of their high-value infrastructure.
Following his service in the U.S. Air Force, Buck entered the energy industry, first joining General Electric and then the rapid-growth startup EnerNOC. Buck built high-performance commercial teams, systems, and solutions that helped industry-leading EnerNOC (now Enel X) to achieve double-digit growth and led new market solutions with demand response, battery storage, renewable energy, and sustainability offerings in North America.
"A world-class sales team is focused on the customer - and that is built into the DroneBase culture. I'm excited to join DroneBase because we have the chance to make a huge difference. Our company has created unique solutions for renewable energy, property owners, and insurers of high-value assets," said Buck. Regarding those solutions, he adds, "An aerial photo by itself is interesting, but DroneBase technology adds so much more. With one click, DroneBase customers have a sharable, easy-to-understand set of insights that allows them to take immediate action to make their business better."
Buck holds an MBA from Babson College and a B.S. in electrical engineering from the United States Air Force Academy. As an officer in the U.S. Air Force, he served as a space launch crew commander at Cape Canaveral, launching rockets sending payloads to orbit as well as missions to Mars.
