Dr. John Cretzmeyer Makes Going to the Dentist Even Easier with Trios 3D Digital Scanning Technology

Trios Dental Scanner

Dr. John Cretzmeyer DDS is now making going to the dentist even easier, faster, and more comfortable for his patients with the addition of digital scanning technology.

Dr. Cretzmeyer has added the industry’s most accurate* intraoral scanner, TRIOS® by 3Shape, to his digital dentistry technology suite.

Intraoral scanners, like TRIOS®, are used in digital dentistry to take super high-speed images of a patient's mouth. The images, called digital impressions, are then brought into CAD/CAM software to design and fabricate dental restorations including dental crowns, bridges, porcelain veneers, and dental implants.

Digital technology in dentistry is precise and highly accurate. It also reduces a dental patient’s time in the dental chair and reduces fabrication time of the permanent restoration without any additional cost to the patient.

One major change that patients of Dr. Cretzmeyer will notice right away is not having to take dental impressions the old way-- biting down into a pudding or putty like impression material for 3-5 minutes until the material hardened.

Taking impressions digitally is also more comfortable for the patient. A study by the University of Bern School of Dental Medicine found that 100% of the patients in the study preferred the digital workflow as opposed to taking non digital impressions.***

Another study found and published by the American Dental Association found conventional dental impressions taken with putty, caused gagging in 8% of the participants.** Dr. John Cretzmeyer is now using the TRIOS® dental scanner technology which means no more gooey impressions and no more gagging for his patients.

In addition, the accuracy of digital impressions makes the resulting restorations more precise. Accuracy that cuts down the potential need to remake the restoration and/or requiring the patient an additional appointment to retake the analog impression because of a fault or damage to the impression caused during shipping, designing, and/or storage.

“The Trios is amazing technology...dental crowns have never fit better,” said Dr. Cretzmeyer.
