Dr. Ed Kondrot to Participate in Microcurrent Research Project, University of Rome
Online, February 16, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Dr. Ed Kondrot, eye expert and the world's only board certified ophthalmologist and board certified homeopathic physician, will be participating in a Microcurrent Research Project at the Department of Experimental Medicine and the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Rome. The research project will begin in March of 2012.
Dr. Kondrot, author of two best-selling books and host of the Healthy Vision Talk Radio Show KFNX 1100 AM, said, "I met with Prof. Mateo Russo and Prof. Marcella Nebbiosa to finalize plans to research the effects of microcurrent on an animal model of macular degeneration. I will have access to the University of Rome's research facilities for this exciting project. Professor Russo has a very interesting theory on how microcurrent works to restore vision."
Dr. Kondrot's prestigious Center for Healing the Eye, located in Phoenix, Arizona, treats patients who seek holistic non-invasive therapies for eye problems that include macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, eyestrain and other eye disorders. Dr. Kondrot has a worldwide following because of these successful therapies. Dr. Kondrot has been offering microcurrent therapy utilizing a new technique called Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM). FSM has produced a dramatic improvement in treatment outcomes of macular degeneration.
Professor Russo at the University of Rome has done research to show that there are ionic channels in cells which have a key role in regulating the nucleus and gene expression. If these ionic channels are activated they can help to restore non-functioning cells. He has done experiments to document this activation of the ionic channels will produce a new gene expression to restore the function of damaged cells. He has a great interest in using this theory to treat the dysfunctional cells in macular degeneration.
Regarding the upcoming research, Dr. Kondrot commented, "Dr. Russo's theory helps to explain what is happening on the cellular level to produce this improvement. It is very exciting that now we are working on an animal model to demonstrate how microcurrent works!"
