Dr. Cooper Represents NH Physicians at AMA meeting
Dover, NH, July 28, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Dr. Cynthia Cooper recently attended the national American Medical Association meeting in Chicago as an alternate delegate, representing New Hampshire physicians. She helped formulate AMA views on national healthcare issues facing Americans today. For example, the AMA delegates voted to ask President Obama to provide timely access for eligible care to American veterans. The AMA delegates also voted to ask for stricter e-cigarette regulation, and voted to oppose the sales and marketing of electronic cigarettes and nicotine products to minors. Another issue that Dr Cooper supported was that of call for a better healthcare electronic data interchange . The AMA wants to work with the electronic health record vendor community to make changes that would better fit physician practice needs. Dr. Cooper said, “I truly felt that my voice was heard, and that the AMA is committed to their strategic focus of ensuring sustainable physician practices that result in better outcomes for patients.” Dr. Cooper will be presenting an AMA update to the New Hampshire Medical Society physicians at their annual meeting in Meredith, NH in November 2014 .
