Doug Briney Fishes With Dynamite In Television Commercial Debut

Country music artist Doug Briney fishes with dynamite in his television commercial debut for KTUU in Alaska. The ad began airing on Friday, May 18, 2012.

Alaskan Cowboy and country music artist, Doug Briney is making his television commercial debut as a dynamite-fishing hillbilly, in this spot taped for Channel 2 KTUU. The clip is to advertise KTUU's Summer Fishing Report, and it began airing last Friday, May 18, during their 6 o'clock newscast. The ad can also be seen on Doug's Youtube channel at www.youtube.com/akdougjr.

"I got the call to do this commercial only a few hours before they were ready to shoot," says Doug. "I was told that they needed a hillbilly for the spot, and that I would be perfect for it. I didn't know whether to be offended or what...but, I loved doing it. Now, I need to add a few good fishing songs to my shows!"

Michael Stover of Doug's management team at MTS Management Group adds, "Doug is a natural talent. His performance in this clip is spot-on, and I think people will remember his goofy character. We hope to go viral with this video."

KTUU-TV was established as KFIA in 1953 and has since become an award-winning broadcaster in the nation's largest viewing area. With bureaus in Anchorage and Juneau, their viewing area covers more than 586,000 square miles, an area greater than California, Texas and Montana combined. Statewide, nearly 83 percent of all Alaskans watch a KTUU newscast every week.
