DotLoop attending, sponsoring REBarCamp Nashville April 28: The marriage of real estate, technology was made in Heaven (or Music City, USA)
Online, April 19, 2010 (Newswire.com) - If you've never been to a REBar Camp - like the one DotLoop is sponsoring and attending in Nashville April 28 with Brian Copeland, king of the Music City's real estate industry - you need to know a few things right upfront.
Number one: It's totally free, thanks to sponsors such as DotLoop (except for the beer and food).
Numbers two, three, four and five: it's completely spontaneous, unscripted, heavily skewed for the real estate/tech types, and a lot of plain, good old-fashioned fun.
"DotLoop has chosen to sponsor REBar Camp Nashville, and to play a major role in the day's events, because Brian has put together a fabulous combination: smart people, getting together to share, using technology to make real estate a better industry," said G. Austin Allison, the Co-founder and CEO of DotLoop (www.DotLoop.com).
DotLoop is the first online collaborative environment for the real estate industry, barreling down a national expansion campaign to Keep It Simple.
Copeland promises a day full of inspiration, thought leadership and networking opportunities with peers.
"REBar Camp Nashville, while it is the main event, it is only part of the overall experience," said Copeland, organizer of the all-day event on April 28 at 5th and Main in downtown Nashville.
"There are a host of REBar Camp Nashville activities such as Beer Bloggers - we do that the night before, and it's always a crowd favorite - as well as WordCamp and the REBarCRAWL," Copeland said.
Additional information can be found on the website at http://brian-copeland.com/rebarcampnashville . Mr. Copeland can be reached at brian@nashvilleandbeyond.com and at (615) 554-6177. The event has a Facebook page and Copeland's Twitter handle is @NashvilleBrian.
REBAR Nashville will be held all day on Wednesday, April 28, at 5th and Main, one of Nashville's only eco-friendly built living communities. The Greater Nashville Association of Realtors is providing a light breakfast, after which the event starts. 5th and Main is located directly across from Titans Stadium, with panoramic views of downtown Nashville.
The social festivities kick off the night before at 7 p.m. with Beer With Bloggers, convening at the Blackstone Brewery on West End Avenue.
"That's what REBar Camp Nashville is really all about: making beautiful music with fellow real estate professionals, and writing great hits for your career," Copeland added. "Bring your laptop, your smartphone, and all those things you can't seem to get a grasp of, and learn with us!"
FAQ for REBarCAMP NASHVILLE
For the uninitiated, here is what a REBarCamp is ... here's what it does ... and here is what you can expect to find at REBarCamp Nashville ( http://brian-copeland.com/rebarcampnashville ) on April 28:
How much does it cost?
Ummm ... it's free.
Will I need money?
If you plan on eating or drinking, yes.
Where can I grab food and drink?
On site at 5th and Main, you will find one of Nashville's finest restaurants and bars, Allium. They are well prepared for us even with a REBarCamp special drink. The menu is very diverse with healthy options. Prices range from $10 to $25. Next door to Allium, Nashville's best chicken tenders can be found at Otter's. Otter's typically is open for lunch only, but has agreed to open the doors for breakfast. They will have numerous beers on tap all day at their terrace bar.
Where do I park?
Generous, interior parking is located on site at 5th and Main. You will also find a gravel lot and several street spaces. Once that fills up, you will have to park in the neighborhood streets and walk a bit.
How does it work?
When you show up you will be given two cards. One will ask you what you most want to learn about. The other will ask you what you're willing to share with others. Don't feel pressured to share if you're not comfortable with it, just learn. After registration, you'll have some time for agent-to-agent networking while the committee prepares the program. When the program is ready, large boards will be displayed with session titles and leaders. A group orientation will be given at that point.
How do we know the session leaders are any good?
Who knows? It's your job to monitor and guide the discussion and learning process. You may discover that a non-leader actually has the best information to share. That's the beauty of the experience.
Where are the sessions?
#rebcnash has 13 amazing spaces throughout the 5th and Main complex. All are near to the center of action (and the bar).
Can I connect to the internet?
#rebcnash will not be providing public WiFi; so, make sure you bring your MiFi or air card.
What are the Twitter hashtags for #rebcnash?
Ooooo an easy one! #rebcnash
If I don't drink beer, and I don't blog, can I still come to Beer With Bloggers?
Hmm? Sure, why not? I'm in a good mood tonight; so, come on!
