2nd Annual "Top Donor Pros" Awards Feature DonorPro's Nonprofit Clients From Around the World

DonorPro, the premier provider of donor management and fundraising software for nonprofits, announced today that five organizations around the world distinguished themselves as winners in the 2015 "Top Donor Pros" Awards Competition. The fundraising awards committee is excited to recognize winners from California, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, and Malaysia. Their creativity, innovation and achievements have set the standard for excellence in the global nonprofit community.

The 2015 "Top Donor Pros" contest awarded $250, four hours of consulting, and two hours of DonorPro CRM best practice training to winners in five categories. DonorPro President, Donna J. Myers, commented on the winners, "All of our clients do such incredible work on behalf of their respective causes, and it is our distinct pleasure to publicly recognize some of the very best fundraising performances from the last year."

The playing field was leveled for all contestants, so that start-up nonprofits and international organizations had equal chances to win. "Some of our smallest nonprofit clients come up with the most innovative fundraising ideas. Regardless of size, everyone deserves a chance to be recognized for excellence," said Jewel Lewis, VP of Client Success.

Here are the category winners of this year's awards and a brief on their achievements:

-Nonprofit of the Year | Westchester Children's Association | Westchester, NY
This New York-based child advocacy group realized significant growth in campaign fundraising for their Centennial Campaign that ends in 2015. Since the campaign began, their annual donation revenue has increased 136%. In 2014 alone, they enjoyed a 27% increase in donors and 104% increase in major gift donations. In addition, they have made great strides in changing the systems that affect children in New York State, gaining influence in the education, political, and legal realms to bring about positive change in children's lives.

-Runner Up: Nonprofit of the Year | A Bridge For Kids | La Jolla, CA
A Bridge For Kids helps underprivileged teenagers in their academic and athletic pursuits, standing in the gap as teens in need pursue higher education. In just their second year on mission, this start-up nonprofit increased fundraising revenue at their largest event by 45%, with 100% of the proceeds going to aspiring teenagers in need of assistance. They also increased online fundraising by $40,000. In addition, 100% of their Seniors were accepted to 4-year universities last year.

-Most Creative Fundraising Event | Primary Health Network Charitable Foundation | Sharon, PA
Sixteen businesses in Mercer County, PA joined PHN Charitable Foundation in their "Snowball Crawl" putt-putt tournament to raise money for those in need of accessible healthcare. Each business designed their own mini-golf hole and PHN had busses shuttle participants around to area businesses. The all-day event culminated with an awards ceremony, auction, live band and dinner to close out the night. Bringing an entire community around one unique event led to a doubling in donations and thousands of engagements on social media.

-Top Digital Fundraising Performance | NBIA Disorders Association | El Cajon, CA
A 600% increase in website visitors and 143% increase in social media reach was good enough for NBIA Disorders Association to win the Top Digital Fundraising Performance in convincing fashion. Their commitment to online engagement led them to launch a new website and focus on social media outreach by posting videos and supporter spotlight blog posts. This strategy worked as NBIA enjoyed an immediate boost in online donations.

-Most Successful Peer to Peer Campaign | Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation | Rockville, MD
Headquartered in Maryland, AA&MDSIF reaches across the world as the leading nonprofit health organization dedicated to supporting patients and families living with aplastic anemia, MDS, and related bone marrow failure diseases. For their 5th annual Hope, Steps, and A Cure 5K in Los Angeles, AA&MDSIF used the peer to peer FriendRaising platform to raise over $40,000. With 280 walkers and runners and 50 volunteers reaching out to their families and friends to raise money, the peer to peer campaign increased awareness for how these rare diseases are affecting people worldwide.

-Best Integrated Fundraising Approach | Penang Adventist Hospital | Penang, Malaysia
Last year's "Most Creative Event" winner, Penang Adventist Hospital, is back again after integrating online and offline fundraising methods for another successful large scale event. Their "Cycle for Hearts" bike ride was the main event of the day while their "Selfie with Hearts" and "Non-stop Zumba" sub-events engaged hundreds of Penang-area supporters. To create such a high level of participation, PAH engaged local governments, local companies, community groups, and other NGOs, advertised on social media, and displayed digital ads around the city to boost awareness.
