Director Michael Cornell Makes The Final Cut

Los Angeles Director Choreographer Michael Cornell opens up about the inside of ballet, comedy and entertainment on The Final Cut Radio with Matthew Robinson.

Los Angeles Director, Choreographer and Ballet Master Michael Cornell opens up for the first time in a live interview about his life, his careers and what it is like on the inside of entertainment during The Final Cut radio this Wednesday at noon (12pm) PST. The program hosted by Matthew Robinson will be airing from Los Angeles.

Growing up ballet. Michael Cornell began his formal training in ballet at age fourteen which included a scholarship at the Pennsylvania Ballet School and coaching by some of ballet's elite such as Royal Ballet dancer Petrus Bosman and Violetta Boft at the National Academy of Arts in Champagne, Illinois. Offered a position at Pennsylvania Ballet, Michael instead accepted an invitation from the innovative Ballet Met, in Columbus, Ohio, dancing with and for such celebrated and renowned artists as James Kudelka, David Parsons and Alonzo King amongst others. During his career at BalletMet, Michael was the poster boy of the company and eventually appeared in a featured Dance Magazine two page spread. He later went to make his mark as an eventual HBO comedian and writer.

"All of the time I spent in live performance at a very high level, prepared me to see and understand the whole picture and how to really put on a production with an incredible sense of theatricality and yet simplicity. Being a comedian has given me a supreme understanding of audiences, what they want, and how to get their attention immediately."

Now in LA he is back to his roots teaching dance, choreographing ballets (his debut piece was The Dark Matter Ballet), storying and directing music videos - Live My Life (Rukus Juice), Celebrate (Mode), and presenting a fresh new teaching style developed through his classical training with his brand Ballet 101. On the move and in demand Cornell is unstoppable striving to change the idea of commercial media and movement, and he has a lot more in store including preparing to launch a new edgy, graphic, hush, hush, fashion brand.

The Final Cut with Matthew Robinson can be found on Blog Talk Radio. Michael Cornell's interview is, Episode 46.
