Diamond Nation's Kevin Cust And Tony Gisell To Be Inducted Into Immaculata High School Hall Of Fame

Cust was then drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 11th round of the 2000 MLB Draft and played two seasons in their Minor League system. Cust also played at Manatee Junior College in Sarasota, Florida. During his two years there, Cust was a first-team All-Conference and first-team All-State player.

Gsell, a hitting and fielding instructor at Diamond Nation, graduated from Immaculata in 1995. Gsell was named the Courier News High School Player-of-the-Year in 1995, the same year he made first-team All-State as well as All-Area, All-County and All-Conference.

"It's such an honor to be inducted into Immaculata High School's Hall of Fame," Gsell said. "I was so blessed to be on a great team with a great group of guys who made me better on and off the field."

Gsell went on to play and start for four years at Old Dominion University from 1996-1999. In 2007, Gsell was inducted into the ODU Sports Hall of Fame. To date, he still holds the ODU all-time home run record (37) and in 1999, won ODU's Alumni Association Male Athlete of the Year. A three-time All-CAA selection and two time ABCA All-Regional pick, Gsell finished his career at ODU as the fifth all-time leader in career runs scored (191), fifth all-time in hits (261), seventh in runs batted in (174), fourth in doubles (55) and second in total bases (447).

Gsell was drafted in the 1999 MLB Draft in the 16th round by the Chicago Cubs. Gsell played two seasons with the Cubs Minor League affiliates, reaching Class A Lansing. Gsell then joined the Independent League Somerset Patriots and played with the team from 2003-2006.
