Denver Magazine Ranks The Spa at The Inverness Hotel Among the '25 Best Spas in Colorado'

Editorial experts cast their vote for Colorado's best spas in the magazine's January issue

In this month's issue of Denver Magazine, editorial experts share their top picks for the best local spas to enjoy exquisite spa-ing in Colorado. Twenty-five spas made the final local's list with The Spa at The Inverness earning a coveted spot. The Spa was recognized for its signature Treasures of the Sea body treatment, a natural detox and remineralization marine therapy, but it also earned praise for its pipeless pedicure and soaking tubs and the hotel's use of peroxide, not chlorine, to care for its pools and hot tubs. A true oasis within city limits, The Spa at The Inverness gives local residents countless reasons to visit including, a loyalty spa card, express mini treatments, complimentary access to hotel amenities and a medley of new, cutting-edge services coming in February.

For the article, editorial staff and contributors evaluated spas on their overall experience, but they also looked for unique services or attributes that distinguished them in Colorado's burgeoning spa landscape. Since its grand opening in November 2006, The Spa at The Inverness set new spa hygiene standards by being the first hotel spa in the Denver metro area to use a pipeless system for its pedicure basins and soaking tub. With this pipeless design, all the water used for a treatment is completely flushed. At no time does water 'sit' in the pipes; thereby eliminating the risk of guests contracting an illness from bacteria or black mold, a known risk of spa pedicures. Furthermore, since 1989, the hotel has used a peroxide solution, instead of chlorine, to maintain its indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs. The peroxide treatment meets industry pool maintenance standards and provides guests with a more comfortable pool experience that's better for their skin and the environment.

Styled in contemporary elegance, The Spa at The Inverness is elegantly appointed in varied tones of burgundy, gold and rich earth hues, ensconced within natural elements of water, stone and light. The 4,500-square-foot Spa features six individual treatment rooms and a couple's suite for various soothing massages, soaks, facials, wraps, scrubs and signature body treatments. Added amenities include a relaxation suite, fully-equipped men's and women's locker rooms and steam rooms, a private outdoor hot tub and fireplace, as well as entree to the hotel's various facilities such as the pool, fitness center, tennis courts, restaurants, outdoor garden and shops.
