Dennis Hernandez Charity Art Auction
Online, February 4, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Tampa attorney Dennis Hernandez will be hosting a silent art auction on March 29, 2014 to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This foundation is focused on fighting blood cancers and has been funding research for more than 60 years. The society has been supporting innovative leukemia and lymphoma research that has led to improved diagnostics and more effective therapies. Moreover, today the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the leading voluntary health agency contributor to blood cancer research in the U.S. and Canada.
"Research is the best way to help many people with leukemia and lymphoma, because it is focused on finding safer and more effective treatments," states Dennis Hernandez. "I would like to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's continuous effort and contribution to medical research focused on blood cancers because their cause has and should continue to positively change the lives of people living with this disease," he continues. According to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, almost half of the new cancer drugs that were approved in the U.S. were approved to treat one or more blood cancers and the organization has helped the advancement of those drugs.
Prior to the fundraiser by Dennis Hernandez, young artists that have won the battle against leukemia and lymphoma will be getting together at his Tampa office to do artwork that will be auctioned at the gala event. In addition to the art by the Champions of Hope, various artists from the Tampa Bay area will be donating their works to be auctioned for charity as well. All proceeds will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The event will be held on March 29, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Tampa office of Dennis Hernandez & Associates, PA. Channel 10 newscaster Charles Billi will be acting as a host and MC of this fundraiser. Besides the array of art, guests will enjoy live music and complimentary wine and appetizers. The event is open to the public and donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at the door will be greatly appreciated.
